Scott and his mother Judy opened their first women’s shirt shop in Brighton in 1983 with seven imported rolls of fabric in assorted colours of French oxford cotton and made it all into one classic long sleeve style with lace collars and cuffs. It sold out in a couple of weeks.
With all cutting done on the premises, there wasn’t a lot of room to move in that first shop! Over the years they have opened shops in all the major Australian capital cities and suburbs, manufacturing wholesale ranges of ladies shirts to all major Australian retailers including Myer, Australia’s largest department store chain.
90% of their women’s and men’s shirts are manufactured locally in Melbourne, Australia. They import fabric from the world’s leading cotton mills, combining classic styles and beautiful, quality manufacturing to produce a premium shirting experience.
Being a low cost operator, they want to provide all women with the opportunity to wear the world’s finest cotton shirts. “Once you have worn the best quality cottons against your skin, you won’t wear anything else”. A minimum mark up is put on the shirts.
Scott wants every woman to have the chance to wear a premium quality Scott Denison shirt hence the price.
